The pharmaceutical industry is under increasing pressure to manage and store information and records in all phases of the product development lifecycle. The pharmaceutical industry is primarily governed by regulations from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but is also impacted by regulations from several other agencies. For example, HIPPA rules impact how patient privacy and information security is handled.
New issues include the FDA’s proposed rule on Bar Code Label Requirements for Human Drug Products and Blood. Imaging Solutions has already created an imaging system that generates bar codes for blood and oncology samples at a laboratory-testing facility.
