Imaging Solutions, Inc. Named Channel Innovator
Recognized for demonstrating inventiveness and business acumen in the content management solutions they delivered in 2005 by Business Solutions Magazine

Wallingford , CT • January 23, 2006 • Imaging Solutions was honored by Business Solutions Magazine with a Channel Innovator Award in the Content Management category.  These awards recognize the most innovative Value Added Resellers in North America .

“We’re honoring six VARs that have demonstrated inventiveness and business acumen in their respective technologies.  These distinguished resellers and integrators have designed and implemented specific technology offerings to address their customers’ multifaceted business problems,” said Brian Sherman, Channel Editor of Business Solutions Magazine. The publication features Imaging Solutions in their February 2006 issue in an article titled Channel Innovator: Content Management Winner - Adding unstructured forms processing and hosted content management technologies to its portfolio helped Imaging Solutions, Inc. attract several new customers in 2005.

Unstructured forms processing captures data from business documents when the location of the information on the page is unknown and the content is either known, such as invoices, resumes or shipping documents, or unknown, such as mortgage files or correspondence.  This is much more complicated than traditional forms processing of structured documents, where both the location and type of information are known and well-defined, such as tax documents or magazine subscription orders.

“Imaging Solutions already had strong technical know-how in the data capture arena, having provided numerous forms based capture solutions.  As we saw our capture software vendors’ products rapidly evolve by adding unstructured information capture, as well as document classification to their suites, it became clear that this evolution would open up new opportunities for us to augment our staff’s existing skills,” said Roger Tausig, Imaging Solutions’ President and CEO.  “This allowed us to position ourselves to provide new and existing customers with a way to reduce data collection costs and become more competitive using this new technology,” continued Tausig.

Imaging Solutions, who partners with capture software providers Kofax, Captiva and AnyDoc Software, implemented several capture solutions in the last year, including ones that:

• Capture orders mailed or faxed into a Fortune 500 company.  The software identifies the form type by reading a preprinted barcode or by the form size.
• Automate the data entry process of call record data from telephone bills.
• Capture documents faxed to various groups within the consumer products division of a large corporation.
• Automate invoice processing in the accounts payable department of a utility company.

Some of these solutions include custom development and integration by Imaging Solutions’ operations team as well as Enterprise Content Management (ECM) repository software and production document scanners.  As part of the award announcement, Business Solutions Magazine highlighted the invoice automation capture solution and Imaging Solutions’ first ASP content management implementation.

“There has been a lot of press recently about the benefits of SaaS (Software as a Service), which is the current buzz word for a hosted solution or application service provider (ASP) model,” said Tausig.  “When one of our prospective customers wanted to quickly implement an enterprise content management system and was concerned about IT resources, we completed an in-depth analysis comparing Hyland Software’s OnBase content management software to OnBase OnLine, a hosted version of the product, and decided that the ASP model was the best solution for their needs,” added Tausig.
